Where to meet
Registration/start/finish is at the Reserve Shelter, an open
stone pavilion with tables and a concrete floor. There will be
signs to direct traffic to it. There's lots of parking across
from the ball field - we're told we'll have the whole area to
ourselves this year.
When to come
Special instruction clinic for the Empire State Senior Games (ESSG)
participants is at 11:00.
All the ESSG participants, who will wear
bib numbers to distinguish them from everyone else, will start
first. First start is at noon. Once they're off, anyone who's
interested in going on one (or more) of the courses is welcome
to start.
Courses
Anyone:
White, Brown, Green
Non-ESSG competitors only:
Yellow, combo
The courses available to ESSG particpants are White (non-competitive, no medals), Brown and Green. Non-competitors may go on any of these courses once the ESSG competitors have all started. People who are not particpating in the ESSG may choose instead to go on a Yellow course, or may combine two or more of the courses to make a custom course.
Park entrance fee refunds
Green Lakes State Park has a $4 entrance fee. Anyone
with an ESSG credentials tag or anyone
arriving at the park before 9am (you can watch the Triathlon!)
does not have to pay the entrance fee.
Orienteers arriving after 9 without ESSG credentials
must pay the entrance fee but can get a refund by following
these steps:
This seems bureaucratic and costly, but that's how Green Lakes wants to do it.
Volunteers
Volunteers are always welcome!
Anyone who'd like to help set up should arrive by 10 and
present themselves to Barb for an assignment.
Experienced orienteers who can help teach the Seniors Clinic
at 11 and/or help with regular event registration will be gratefully
greeted -- please call Barb at 315/458-6406 and/or arrive by 10.
If you're not experienced or can't arrive early, please consider
helping record finishes or figure results; no experience necessary.
