Of the three main motels in Cortland the Super 8, at exit 11 I-81 and Rt. 13, has the best deal and is the headquarters motel for Friday night registration. In Ithaca, about a mile west of the airport, to the right at the intersection of Rt. 13 and Triphammer Rd, is another Econolodge, 607/257-1400, and a Ramada Inn with an indoor pool, 607/257-3100. About three miles farther west and south on 13, in town, is a Super 8, 607/273-8088.
Restaurants near the Econolodge and Ramada Inn include Peking (Chinese), Friendly's, McDonalds, Subway, Magic Wok (Chinese), Village Diner, Billy Bob Jack's (BBQ), the food court at the Pyramid Mall, Hope's Way cafe, Brous & Mehaffey deli, The Rose, Nardi's (Italian/steak), Wok Village (Chinese), Domino's pizza, Heights Cafe, and A&P and P&C grocery stores that close by 9 or 10pm on weekend nights.
Near the Super 8 is an excellent Thai restaurant, Thai Cuisine. Cruise south on 13 for the usual assortment of Taco Bell, Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald's, Friendly's, various Chinese, and steak-and-seafood places. Head north to find Italian- Roma's is particularly good- another Brous and Mehaffey deli/bakery, and Purity Ice Cream. The Wegman's and Tops food stores on 13 south are enormous and open all night; Wegman's has an extensive and eclectic salad bar/buffet/sandwich/cafeteria eat-in cafe with a good deal on subs. The GreenStar Coop food market at the intersection of Buffalo and Fulton is open to non-members and features organic produce.
